COVID-19 PREVENTATIVE MEASURES

As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection spreads worldwide, the Therapists and Staff at Animal Assisted Therapy of the Triangle convey our sympathy and concern to everyone affected by this outbreak. We have been following the outbreak and adjusting our protocols to assure the health of our Clients. With that in mind, we want to share with you the preventative measures that have been put in place at our practice locations.

1. Information posters from the CDC on COVID-19 infection are posted in our office locations.

2. Therapists, staff, and clients are being asked if they have symptoms to stay home when sick and remain there until they are fully recovered.

3. Our lobby is closed and we have asked clients to wait in their car or outside until their appointment time at which point their therapist will come collect them.

4. If you need to speak with our practice manager after an appointment, we have marked appropriate social distancing spaces in the lobby for people to stand and wait.

5. We will provide tissues, hand sanitizer, and soap to all our clients. Hand sanitizer is located in each office, the bathrooms and our lobby area.

6. Clients, therapists, and staff will wear masks in any common areas (e.g. the lobby, hallways, etc.). It is for each client and therapist to decide about wearing masks within the therapy office.

7. Our Therapists and Staff will practice good cough and sneeze etiquette, and they will utilize appropriate hand hygiene (washing with soap and water for 20 seconds or hand sanitizer).

8. All Therapists and Staff will cease close contact with clients (e.g. no shaking hands or hugging).

9. We will be wiping down the door handles with sanitizing wipes throughout the common office space multiple times a day.

10. Each therapist will practice a specific cleaning protocol of their office and wipe down their therapy animal between sessions.

11. We are suspending our cancellation fee policy until further notice in the event appointments have to be cancelled at the last minute due to clients become uncomfortable leaving their home to come to their appointment.

We will be monitoring the COVID-19 infection spread closely and will continue to update our protocols in line with local, state, and federal recommendations. Your physical and mental health is important to us and please bring any concerns to our attention. We thank you for your patience if any of our preventative measures pose a temporary inconvenience.
