Fuzzy Faces Refuge
Fuzzy Faces Refuge (FFR) is a volunteer 501c3 North Carolina nonprofit organization. Their mission is to provide sanctuary for endangered heritage breed farm animals and create a safe environment where people of all abilities can interact safely with these animals using positive, therapeutic experiences that build confidence, enable positive progress and afford opportunities that may not otherwise be available. FFR is also a PATH International Member Center, offering therapeutic riding and rehabilitation focused services for Veterans, their families and others with special challenges who may be in need of personal growth activities and education within our community through our Freedom Steps Equine Services program. Animal Assisted Therapy of the Triangle (AATT) has partnered with Fuzzy Faces Refuge (FFR) to offer our counseling clients an additional, experiential location for sessions; to host group counseling sessions; and to provide mental health and wellness workshops. Animal Assisted Therapy of the Triangle does NOT train therapy dogs or service dogs. However, our canine co-therapists must be trained for the work they do with our clients and some of our dogs have received training from the excellent dog trainers at Carolina Ranch.
